Osteopathy

Long known as a highly effective treatment for back pain and sciatica, osteopathy can also help people suffering from such conditions as headaches, neck and shoulder pain, tennis elbow, arthritic hips and knees, foot pain, respiratory problems and postural problems caused by such things as work, sports, gardening, driving or pregnancy.

Osteopaths use their hands both to investigate the underlying causes of pain and to carry out treatment using a variety of manipulative techniques. These may include muscle and connective tissue stretching, rhythmic joint movements or high velocity thrust techniques to improve the range of movement of a joint. Gentle releasing techniques are often used, particularly when treating children or elderly patients.

Osteopathy was the first of the professions previously outside the conventional medical services to achieve statutory recognition.

Please feel free to ring us for advice or to make an appointment and one of our highly qualified, friendly and professional team is sure to be able to help you.
